have been fortunate enough to own a few different mp3 players/devices over the years going back to the Creative Jukebox beast, but there's no doubt that as an "all rounder" this thing takes the cake and would highly recommend it if what you want/need is many devices all in 1. For pure mp3 sound quality/mp3 player'ability, it's not even in the same league as my Cowon (which is amazing for sound quality in my very un-professional opinion), but then the Cowon sucks with it's internet connectivity and its OS (the model I have anyway which is the Q5W)...

An incredible device though and nothing comes close to even polishing its shoes on the cool front! Saying that though, you do feel is if you're trying a bit too hard to be cool when you pull one out! Got a great pair of Skype friendly earphones, the klipsch S4i's that come with a built in remote/mic so you can not only keep the thing in your pocket if you want, but you can also Skype away in a wifi zone as well! A device for trendy's and plums all in one! Can't be bad! :D

W. :)

So is it everything but a phone? That`s the only difference from the iphone am I right in thinking?

Pretty much as far as I can see...You do have the "phoning" function of using Skype and if you have a nice Nokia with a nifty little program called Joikuspot added, this adds your connectivity area beyond mere wifi spots...Works well.

That`s interesting and sounds like just what I`m looking for which is basically a wifi phone that I can use Skype with looked at the HTC before but now with all these new phones I`m unsure of which one.

What model Nokia is it and how much? How does Joikuspot add the connectivity beyond hot spots, again new to me thanks for your reply.

I have a nokia E71 and I imagine it works on all the nokia smartphones. Have just seen it works with windows mobiles as well. check out - joikushop - and I think you'll find all the info better explained than I ever could! Good luck, but don't hesitate to ask if you got any more Q's.

I'm certainly not an expert but I think (think!) that the present iPod Touch has more possibilities, apart from phoning and camera which the Touch lacks.

The price is also a lot higher than the iPhone; I wonder why that is if both would be the same, apart from phone+camera; in fact one would think it has to be cheaper than the iPhone, right ? :)

But, maybe an Apple specialist better steps in as they know more and better than me.

The iPod Touch is an iPhone minus phone and minus camera. I think it doesn't have a speaker either but I might be wrong there. Of course the touch at 64GB has more storage too, the iPhone has either 16 or 32. iPhone is 26,500 baht for 16GB so it's definitely more expensive than a touch.

As far as being amazed - welcome to the iPhone world! This thing is amazing, it's a pocket computer that can do pretty much anything, and it's amazingly elegant to use as well. Not in my wildest dreams I would have though to have such a device in my pocket in 2008 - maybe 2020... it's a congruence of things that make it work so well - the touch screen that works (first of its kind, others either didn't work at all or work so badly you want to throw them at a wall after 15 minutes). Computing power which only recently became good enough to make it work. OpenGL acceleration for great graphics. On screen keyboard which is about two generations ahead of previous iterations from others (remember poking miniscule keys with a stylus on the Palm? I do). The app store and dev toolkit which make all these apps possible and available at your fingertips.

Honestly, the combination of an iPod touch + cheapo Nokia phone is pretty tempting vs. an iPhone.
