Hi there, with a the (UK) ILR visa in your passport is there a requirement in which you have to spend a certain amount of days in the UK - or that if you were out of the country a certain period of time that it becomes invalid? Like if a thai person with ILR status goes back to thailand for a year and a half do they retain their ILR status in the UK?

If a person with ILR is out of the UK for a continuous period of 2 years or more, then the ILR will lapse.

Also, if away for a shorter period they could be refused entry to the UK if it was apparent that they were no longer resident in the UK.
