Places Closer To Bangkok

Featured Replies

I am going to thailand with a few friends for 10 days . I want to go to Pattaya, then to Ko- Samet bith two nights .... Rest 6 nights can anyone suggest some places closer to either BKK, Pattaya or Ko samet.

Rayong, Bangsean, Trad, Ko Chang, Chanthaburi, Chonburi, samutsongkarn, kanchanaburi,........ better stick it out at pattaya.

Have a look at Ko Chang. Easy travel from Pattaya and back up to Bangkok and a great place to unwind.

Most of these suggestions are NOT closer, but further away from BKK. Anyway -PTY to BKK-Swampy airport is just 90 mins by car/taxi,(efeectively shorter as some spots In BKK at the wrost of traffic times) ansd the only place only marginally worth visiting might be Bang saen-a Thai style beach ''resort'' of sorts, deserted weekdays. But if you dont give any hint as to what you would like-why even ask? or take a look at www.bangkok-daytrips.com-for not too well known other tips.

Baeng Saen is a dump. Still tons of trash all over the place, in the water, filthy

better stick it out at pattaya.

:)

I'd do couple/three nights in Hua Hin, a couple in Kanchanaburi and the last in Ayuthaya. They all offer something different, are within easy each of the capital, and you can do them on a route :D

Sorry, forget that; read it within reach of Bangkok and not between... best off sticking with Patters :)

My advice as someone who has lived here for 6 years is do Pattaya its filled with bars, old Europeans and some of the roughest women you will have ever seen in your life. After 2 days most normal people will have had enough of it. Do Ko Samet nice place, frequented by hi So gay Thais totally opposite to Pattaya after 2 days you will also have had enough of it. Go on to Kantchanaburi (can be reached by bus from Bangkok Southern bus terminal about 3 hours ride)and go on the railway, chill out go on a boat on the river stay in a cheap place by the river and enjoy. After that you will obviously be in need of action so return to Bangkok and do Sukhumvit and Patpong. I promise you will leave with a big smile on your face. :)
