Featured Replies

Hi,i have a surecom wireless box,a while ago the maxnet modem router had to be reset by 3bb,my wireless network was secured and named sb,but now it says default network and anyone can join it without entering a wep key, anyone got any ideas how i get it back to how it was? thanks

  1. Right click on your wireless icon in the bottom lower right corner of your pc
  2. Click on open network connections
  3. Right click on wireless network connections
  4. Click on properties
  5. Click the middle tab titled Wireless Networks
  6. Highlight your preferred wireless network
  7. Click on properties
  8. Set to WEP and add your New Network Key
  9. Save

log into the routeur and reenter the settings, mostly its adress is 192.168.1.1

Please don't use WEP.

It is not secure at all and it is really odd that it exist 2010...

Use WPA2 instead...

Just key on the number where you normally put the www.etc on your browser.

Thanks for all replies, when i type in any of the numbers into the browser i just get a google search page with many websites about default ip addresses etc,so still havnt sussed it,

Open the command prompt window (start -> run -> CMD, or you'll find it in the accessories folder). Type 'ipconfig' and note the default gateway IP address. That should be your router. Enter that IP in your browser (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) and you should hopefully be looking at your router admin screen.

If it doesn't work on your laptop it's possible that you have wireless administration disabled, in which case you may need to try it through a machine with a wired/ethernet connection to the network.
