Heres a question I hope some-one can answer for me .

Having almost finished wading through the myriad web of questions and amassed just about all we need for my Cambodian wife to emmigrate to Canada , she said "What if I do not like it there ? " women ?

Okay , get a visitor visa for her and try to get her accepted as an immigrant whilst in Canada , I posed this question on a travel forum and was told " If your wife accompanies you on the same flight , on arrival we apply at POE (?) for SOWP spousal open work permit " . We will have all the documentation with us and she is already in my tax base as 'Common-law wife ' .

Anybody have any knowledge or experience on this , cannot find this on Government site , all help or hints/tips appreciated .

An open work permit is what my wife got when she went to Canada. However they seem to only be for:

1. the spouses or common-law partners of foreign temporary workers

2. the spouses or common-law partners of foreign students

3. international students who have graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution (new as of April 2008).

I was in option 1 and my wife got a visa and work permit because of that.
