PuddingDis
Hello, I was just wondering, does anyone know how many days or hours it takes to get a Visa extension of one month? Is it a one day thing, or will the Immigration office keep my Italian passport for several days? Also, do they need any documents other than the passport? cdnmatt
Same day thing. Depends on the time you get there (get there early morning, if possible), and how busy it is. Can take anywhere from 30 mins to 4 hours. Need passport, photos, photocopy, and a filled in form. Everything but the passport can be obtained at the immigration office generally, as they usually have photo & photocopy businesses there too. thaiphoon
Obtain from local immigration office. You will need to take with you your passport, completed application form TM7, recent passport sized photo, copies of your passport photo page/visa/arrival stamp + TM6 departure card. Fee 1900 baht. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/tm7.doc

thaiphoon
Note: If downloading form TM7 you need to print both pages double sided on single A4 sheet. Or can obtain/complete at immigration office.
Ossies
Does the 30 day extension run from the day you apply or the day your original visa expires? I wish to get as much validity as possible. The stamp in my passport says 'admitted until 18 Jan' If extension runs from date of original expiry I will go along to immigration tomorrow (15 Jan) but if not am tempted to go Monday (18 Jan) which is last day. Does the latter option i.e. applying for extension on last day pose any problems difficulties? Thanks
thaiphoon
Extensions are tacked onto the end of your current permission to stay, not from the date of application. Always best to apply early as you do not lose any days by doing so.
Ossies
Thanks for (prompt) reply. Will trot along to immigration tomorrow as will not lose any days by applying for extension early.
