hi guys, can any one give me some advice as to weather it is possible for a Filipino (female 21 years old been in Thailand now almost two years on double entry tourist visa) to obtain a non o multiple entry one year, and if so were would be the best place to obtain it, we have been informed by the Thai embassy in the fills that thay will not issue her one there, unless she is married ,which is not an option !! the girl in question lives with a good friend here in Thailand who is on a retirement visa. thank you for any input.

She will not get a non-O in the region. Maybe Brisbane or Perth will accomodate her with a letter from the person with who she is staying, but preferebly with a copy of the ID and small note asking for a visa from a Thai friend.

Another option is to go and study. Doesn't have to be Thai language, as long as the school is recognised and she goes to school at least 4 hours a week.

Yep, virtually impossible for her to get a visa to go to Australia, unless she has very strong ties to her home country (businesses, children, land, and a regular substantial income).

Manila is known to be difficult in giving visa's, even sometimes refusing to issue tourist visa's. Often requiring them to do a stopover in KL or Penang to obtain the visa over there!

So unless she has a genuine reason (married to a Thai, owning a business or holding a work permit etc) there would be virtually no chance for her to obtain such visa.

Most likely the easiest way for her to obtain a long term visa will be the non immigrant ED visa. For this she will be required to pay a full year of tuition in an accredited school (around 26,000 Baht) after which the school will get papers from the ministry of education, which entitles her to a single entry ED visa (which you apply for in for example Penang).

After she re-enters with this visa, and as long as she keeps doing at least 4 hours of study per week, she will not have to leave Thailand but rather get a 90 day extension every 90 days at the local immigration office. Up to 3 years.
