The Gentleman Scamp Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I ask this because us English get such a bad deal in Thailand, as if it's our fault for the gaggle of pissed up, ignorant tossers shouting 'Sweet Chariot' in the corner of the room as the staff patiently wait for them to Foxtrot Oscar - I am of course making a vague reference to no specific experience when many a time I've been out trying to enjoy a beer with a friend and end up cringing with embarassment like a crisp packet on a grill the moment I realize (usually just by looking) that the likes of the aforementioned share the same flag as me. In a way it is our fault because it's the 'normal' and decent Englishmen who for years have gone back to Blighty, popped down the Kings Arms for a couple of pints and 'spread the word' in earshot of all the pricks, tossers, <deleted>, tits, w*nkers, knobs and <deleted> who until recent years never made it much further than Majorca. So is there a good relationship between Tone and Tax? "Possibly not"...Said the bloke sat to my left as we rode the big green Jack's Golf bus back to Sukhumvit from Poipet - my first visa run in nine months and a ritual I had not missed despite the reliable service. One thing he was sure of was that he is more than pally with G.W.B. which is probably why the fat, middle aged yank who moaned all day about the heat, plus the fact that he had to walk for two minutes to get to the Casino complex from immigration, was granted a full 1 year visa for his efforts. Not that I am bitter i'll be off very soon anyway and Jack's Golf Tours do improve with each visit and try to make the day as easy as possible... Only the buffet is not as good as it used to be and very litle is edible so it is wise to stock up 7-Eleven 13 baht cake, chocolate milk and Lays before setting off. Anyway, back on topic... If there isn't a healthy relationship between Poxy and Toxy, then is it beccause of our tarnished reputation overseas or is it simply because we are not the best country in the world like North America is?
The_Eye_Of_Sauron Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Thaksin Shinawatra is not on Tony Blair's radar screen. Thailand does not figure in the geo-political scenario.
Thaiboxer Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Toxin and Bush are good buddies....they share the same political philosophy which is corruption/dictatorship. For hobbies, Bush likes to bomb countries and Toxing likes rounding up drug addicts and killing them.
samran Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 As long as TB lets TS and his cronies come to London and go shopping at Harrods on a regular basis, then TS’s opinion of TB will remain fine and dandy. As for TB’s opinion for TS? N.F.I!
britmaveric Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Who cares - let's be honest Thailand isnt a blip on most western countries radar.
bannork Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Who cares - let's be honest Thailand isnt a blip on most western countries radar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When Chuan Leekpai was PM, he paid an official visit to Tony Blair and was astounded when Tony suddenly asked: ห้องน้ำอยู่ที่ไหน hong nam yoo tee nai?- Where is the bathroom? It turned out Mr and Mrs Blair spent their honeymoon in Thailand, obviously Tony hadn't forgotten the key phrases!
taxexile Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 and in keeping with normal thai behaviour i wouldn't have been surprised if during the official dinner at downing street leekpai suddenly announced to one and all " oooh me stomach , diarrhoea , i need to sh1t " and rushed out of the room.
ThaiPauly Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Thailand's Glorious Leader likes Bush, (hmm well no surprise there,) but its all about MONEY & POWER if you ask me. Dubya has more than Blair, always has had - and during the VN War liberally splashed it around in Thailand- hence the Yanks have the Treaty Of Ammity (which makes it very EASY for them to do business here) and we don't (which makes it much HARDER for us Brits to do business here) if there is any SUCKING UP to be done then Dubya is always gonna get it before our dear Tony. I say again MONEY & POWER Toxin does not speak English and neither does Dubya but neither of them speak Thai.........err yeah think i 've got it right

happymanme Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Because RDN our esteemed leader smiley blair forgot where it was as he was busy at the time stuffing the nation and thinking ahead to his future role as president of the world (sorry EU)

Silly me! Not because Gordon Brown told him it meant "I admire you greatly".
custard Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Tat-Sin ain't happy about the presence of a threatening 'Orange' in Thailand and wants B-Lair to do something about it. But B-Lair just couldn't care less apparently
