Just a question

If the applicant cannot prove any funding for their trip e.g. pay slips and bank statements, the sponsor can finance without any issues? What if the sponsor is not associated with the applicant for example:

The applicants partner/ boyfriend uses parents as the sponsor, is this ok or will there be any issues? What will the sponsor need to show? Bank statements and what is the criteria for acceptance e.g. balance?

And would it actually help to inject a deposit into the applicants bank account as long as a suitable reason is given e.g. to pay for air fare and a letter explaining no rent or food bills will be incurred.

Your thoughts please.

You may both help fund the trip for example :

The applicant can pay for the trip themselves if they have adequate funds in the bank.

If you intend to deposit funds into his/her account put this in any covering letters explaining that the funds came from yourself.

You could supply the accommodation etc, we recently submitted an application jointly funded by the boyfriends parents and himself.

Each case is judged on its own merits.

To expand on the funding.

The trip can be funded by the applicant, the sponsor a third party or a combination of these. If a third party, e.g. sponsor's parent(s), is providing the funds they should write a covering letter saying why they are doing so.

Whoever is providing the funds must provide evidence of their ability to do so; bank statements and proof of income as required. How much? Depends. Obviously a visitor will require more funds if staying in a hotel than if staying with friends or relatives and the longer the intended visit the more funds required.

If staying with friends or relatives then the visitors day to day expenses can be met from the income of whoever is providing the funds, so the only money needed in the bank is the cost of the fare.

ECOs are very suspicious of large amounts of money suddenly appearing in an applicant's bank account. If you do this then you should write a letter explaining who it came from and what it's for.
