Import Tax

Featured Replies

I was thinking of buying some things from China do anybody hnow about the import tax.

I want to buy 1000 shoes the price is 14dollar without tax.

What is the price when the shoes come to Bangkok included shipping.

Give up on this idea

By the time you add import tax and shipping those shoes will be over $20 a pair or 660 thb

To make any money you would need to sell them for 1000 baht a pair

That is a price higher that Central Mall Stores

Thais like to buy shoes for 100 to 150 baht, not 1000 baht

Thank you Nio for your well-informed post.

If you can obtain a Form E from your supplier in China, chances are that the import is duty free.

As for the shipping, we are happy to render you a quote if you PM me more details about the cargo.

:)

Yes, now that the ASEAN - China FTA is in effect there are alot off items that have very low or no import duty if coming in from China....

Rule of thumb... only work with suppliers in China that can provide "Form E" otherwise your prices are unlikely to be competative (as your competition in Thailand is likely using suppliers who can provide form E and becuase of this will be able to offer lower prices in the market than you if you don't)
