Newbie Advice Required. Need To Carry Out Visa Run From Samui, Only Have 15 Day Visa

Hi there

I hope someone can assist me, many thanks in advance.

I arrived from Cambodia with my girlfriend for a 6 week round tour of Thailand and thought I might be able to get the right visa on the border. How wrong I was. Only a 15 day tourist visa was provided. I have already beaten myself up about this, but we all remember and laugh about the bad situations in the end!

I am on Ko Samui now in Chaweng (sp?)

1/ Is it possible to visit the immigration office near the port to get the visa extended for 30 days? Will a bottle of acohol (or other) for the man behind the desk solve the problem?

2/ What is the cheapest way to get to a border to get this sorted out?

3/ Can I get a new Thai 30/60 day visa after leaving via a 15 day (plus possible 7 days extension)?

4/ Is there a recommend visa run tour I can book onto? I am assuming this will be the least stressful and best option. I would need a guide!

5/ How long will it take to carry out the run via the visa run tour? (Cheapest option :-) )

sure, some bottles of alcohol will make the immigration guys friendly-

because they are waiting for a "Paul" everyday.......

you ask very specific about the visa rules, but you did not consider to make a 3 month visa before you start your 6 weeks round tour through thailand?

you should start writing books for small children, maybe they believe your stories.

cheapest option is probably herbert opposite immigration but if you do a land visa run you will only get 15 days, arrive by air and you get 30 days. nok at immigration is best guy to talk to but i dont think you will get much joy with just a bottle of some thing
