In the current economical crisis it is obviously a 'buyers market' not a sellers market'. If you need the cash then you have to let it go for want you can get. On the other hand if you wait then surely the price will diminish even further. Only you know the answer. :)

In todays scene, no green book etc, its only worth something untill the BiB take it off you ....then u have nothing. Grab what u can while u can.

Learn a lesson and never buy a bike that is not legal again.

My friend just sold a CB 400 no green book.....39000 and I advised him to take it.

The following week the new owner had the bike consficated.........untill he pays the tea money etc.

My friend is very happy with his 39K in the bank now!!

It's cruel - but that invoice is utterly worthless without something linking it to your bike. Getting a Green book would involve paying the "invoiced amount" once again... I would take the 35 k. Chris

This has been discussed many times before. Current Thai government is trying to get everybody to do things legit and by the book. Thus if you want anything larger than a 150cc bike then best buy a proper Thai bike. Anything else has a dubious background and you are an the mercy of the BiB. Clever way is to buy a new Thai bike (Kawa?) on finance. Then no big outlay and you can pay for it over time. Bikes can last a long time so buying on finance is a good idea, even if you pay much more for the finance.

If you can buy a large bike for next to nothing (without book or dodgy book); then go for it with the understanding that if the BiBs take it off you, it will become the property of a fat (ugly?) corrupt policeman :)

Oh well then you should be ok. Its probably difficult to sell, unless you find another farang happy to be illegal and living in the country like you. Alot of us here are in city areas where the police are around all the time, so you have to be legal, otherwise you become an easy target.

i'm living in mae salong, high in the mountains,

i actually do most of my driving on dirt roads.

there are cops but they're not the slightest bit interested in me,

they're checking for illegal emegrants,

when i need to go to town i take the car,

but next year the local cops might get ordered to stop me,

who knows
