Internet Satellite T.v. - Help Needed

Featured Replies

The apartment where I'm living provides a very limited number of International Channels.

They don't allow me to fix dish of any kind - even a small true vision thing!

Is there any way I can watch the channels in the TV using my hi-speed internet? Currently I'm connecting my TV with the laptop using AV Cable and watching online channels in the TV. But while watching I cannot use the laptop.

So anyone please guide me is there an alternative way I can watch the online channels in the TV?!

I think you can do it with a Xbox.

If your laptop supports dual-monitors (most modern ones do) then you can set up an Extended Desktop which will allow you to watch on the TV whilst using the lappie (assuming the AV cable is long enough of course).

How you do it depends upon your OS and graphics card, but start with a right-click on the desktop and look for Graphics Properties.

I'm running exactly what you want right now (but watching downloaded TV rather than streaming) whilst typing this :)

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

google the following;

tvunetwork

tvants

sopcast

TVU is currently taking on a large number of channels, it's got most of brit freeview, which is nice. TVAnts has a lot of chinese channels, but also things like Discovery and CNN.

Right now i have the Iphone TVU Player App running, with a video out cable to my TV. I also use a VPN so i can watch the channels on http://tvcatchup.com

I think you can do it with a Xbox.

Yes although the laptop would need to be running windows media center or a program like tversity. The xbox should be the latest model 360 (try to get one with a Jasper chip to avoid over heating issues and dreaded red ring of death, they are available in MBK for approx 15,000).

The PS3 and Wii can also stream TV but they are both harder to set up, and I found quality of the streaming to be inferior to the 360 which was specifically designed from the outset to be a media extender (as well as a gaming console).

For best results connect the 360 to the network with an ethernet cable, wireless is possible but streaming over a wireless connection can cause occasional stuttering.

Also, parts or BKK is services by fiber optic cable, that you can get other than True on. If You have TRUE cable running past your building, then U have many option, not just TRUE ripoff.

Wow.

Thanks a lot for all your replies.

Is there anything I can do with the dreambox 500 thing?!

For a dreambox 500S you need a dish.

If you have a balcony facing the south-east (240 degrees on your compass), you might be able to place a dish on your balcony, out of sight.

The dish looks up at an elevation angle of 60 degrees (so the roof shouldn't be in the way if you place it low enough).

try:

www.myp2p.eu

they provide links to all the softwares that you need along with sport schedules..etc

cheers
