Charity concert for Haiti kicking off on Samui Island

SURAT THANI: -- 1 February 2010 (NNT) – Governmental and private sectors on Samui Island join hands in organizing a charity concert, raising money for Haitian quake victims.

The “Charity Party Dance for Haiti” is jointly organized by the local administration, the Samui Tourism Association, the Thai Hotel Association, and local clubs. The event will take place on Chaweng Lake View on Samui Island in the southern province of Surat Thani, tonight from 19.00 hrs onwards.

The money raised, after expense deduction, will go towards Haiti Fund. Tickets are sold at 300 THB each.

Good idea, lets hope the money actually reaches the people who need it.

EDIT/ i just noticed the part that says "after expense deduction" :)

of course they have to pay(a small commisssion. :) ..to) the people which sell the tickets

and instead of the usual finishing time of 6 or 7am, it is being advertised to run until midday tomorrow !! Yippee.

They call it concert.

Isn't it the usual boom boom boom boom boom all night long.

Used to live close there.

Glad I moved.

Sorry for everyone that bought property.

a perfect example of people not wanting to miss the opportunity to make some easy cash off suckers.

after expense deduction what a joke they creamed of most of the Tsunami cash, that was to help their own so how much of this is going to end up Haiti. nothing.

What a joke.Next thing they are all going to have benefit concerts. :):D & guess what? They will advertise it & milk it to the limit. They are so community minded.

Ask anyone there , where Haiti is.

considering who the boss of the event is and regarding the location, the money will finish in the well knwow pocket of the blackmoon party ;-)

at leadt he won't have mine, also this is just a rebadged blackmoon, it's called dance for haiti.

guess the usual drug delaers there will also send all the money after deduction of their expenses to haiti :)
