Do I Need To Report

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been doing this (submission of TM 30 NOTICE FROM HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED) whenever I do a visa run to Singapore and back to Thailand. This exercise went on for more than a year.

However, many thanks to members of TV who had contributed many infos into this forum, I have manage to obtain and happily collected my Certificate of Residence from Chok Chai immigration office this morning.

Out of curiousity, my gf asked the officer at the reception counter whether she is require to submit TM 30 again, since I have a certificate of residence. The answer was "YES" :) My gf was shocked and asked again...So What is a Certificate of Residence?

Answer : A Certificate of Residence is for foreigner to apply for a Thai driving license, buy motorcycle, car or opening of bank account in thailand... :D whereas, TM 30 is for the owner to report that an "alien" has stayed in her house. :D

Would any knowledgeable member enlighten me on this?

Many thanks...

I dont really know what you are asking for DB....Their answer looks pretty clear to me.

They have told you exactly what the certificate of residence is for and also what the form TM 30 is for.

So what is it that you dont understand?

HL :)

I think that you will find it is valid for 30 Days.

Why did you get one ?

The usual purpose is indeed vehicle and. NO, it has nothing to do with reporting.
