I'm sure I'll go there. She loves it and I love it also.

Personally, I'm either going fishing or I'm going to go and hide for a day or so until it all blows over. I have too many lady friends and it will cost me a fortune otherwise. :)

Valentines Day?

Valentines Day? bwaahhaaahhaaa. I can't recall that I have EVER done anything for Valentines Day in Thailand. :)

lol

Chinese New Year, isn't it?

That should get us out of trouble this time, if we feign ignorance. :)

Aww, that's sweet! I'm so glad I finished reading your post. My "perv alert" was going off when you said she had to get up early for school...I was waiting for you to say that she's 17 or something. :) Have fun with your little one!

DH and I used to go out for a nice dinner and he'd buy me flowers, but it all came to an abrupt halt 6 years ago when my son decided that was the day to make his grand entrance. :D

Since then, and I imagine for the next 10 or so years, Valentine's Day has and will take a back seat to birthday cakes and pressies.

Hopefully I'm not being too optimistic to hope that once he's more interested in celebrating his birthday or Valentine's Day with his friends, I might find myself in the backseat, so to speak - hehehe :):D

slaps apparently pervs on me instead. :) but cheers for that slaps. lovely way to spend your valentines day. My dad and I have a wonderfully close relationship, and for me, at least, there is nothing quite like a close father-daughter relationship. Good for you :D

probably mark it with the same enthusiasm that we do Birthdays & wedding anniversaries by doing nowt as usual :) The only day I now really insist on getting at least a card is Mothers day, valentines for me is jut another card company manufactured holiday.

Valentine's Day is not a Thai invention. Nor is the Moon, but I'm sure you can decide for yourselves which has more gravity here in Thailand on this coming February 14th.

Telephone Line Lyrics

Hello, how are you

Have you been all right

Through all those lonely, lonely, lonely,

Lonely, lonely nights

That's what I'd say

I'd tell you ev'rything if you'd pick up

That telephone

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey, how you feelin'

Are you still the same

Don't you realize the things we did, we did

Were all for real not a dream

I just can't believe they've all faded out of view

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Oo oo oo oo

BRIDGE

Doo wop

Shoo bee doo doo wop

Doo wah doo lang

Blue days black nights

Doo wah doo lang

CHORUS

I look into the sky

Your love ain't really gonna see you through

And I wonder why the little things

Are fin'ly comin' true

Oh, oh, telephone line

Give me some time

I'm living in twilight

Oh, oh, telephone line

Give me some time

I'm living in twilight

O.K., so no one's answering

Well can't you just let it ring

A little longer, longer, longer

Oh, I'll just sit tight through shadows of the night

Let it ring for ever more

Yeah, yeah, yeah

(repeat bridge)

(repeat chorus)

Oh, oh, telephone line

Give me some time

I'm living in twilight

Oh, oh, telephone line

Give me some time

I'm living in twilight

Chinese new year and Trang is going to be going to town on it, so it will probably be spent with friends, toasting in the year of the Tiger. Grrr.

Apparently, I have not choice but visit the relatives on the 14th.

I'll be doing my usual Sunday and that will be nursing a massive Hangover but seeing its a special day I will tell the missus to make be bacon and eggs for brekky (bout 1.00pm) and then go get the car washed whilst I laze around surfing the Internet.

WOW..what a bunch of exceptional romantics we have here... :)

My Thai wife already made it clear to me... flowers delivered to her workplace are a must...as best as I can tell... chiefly to maintain bragging rights with her female co-workers....

If that'll make the little lady happy for the day, I can pitch in for a good purpose.

However, I must say, I didn't hear her talking about sending anything back my way... :D

It seems your wife shops for whips at the same place as SBK John.

There's an old saying James... Happy wife...happy life...

As long as she's asking for flowers and not cash, I'm cool! :)

Hey JFC hadn't realised you'd got married... I must have been sleeping again... Congratulations young man....

BTW Have you also applied for an Aeon supplementary card for her... could be a nice Valentine gift :D

Bought the card, got the roses, chocolates, was all set to take her out for a romantic dinner at the hotel in town, then she had her monthly "friend" visit. :D Of course, she'd ran out of paracetamol and iboprufen, so spent hours moaning on the sofa, until her sister brought some for her from town. Exactly the same at Christmas. :) Sorry ladies, if I sound unsympathetic, but everyone has their limits.

Mine worked out fine, but it took a bit of unexpected work...

I had arranged with Asoke Florist, who did a great job all the way around including on price, to deliver a bouquet/vase of roses to the hospital where my wife works...

Then at the last minute, because of a scheduling change, the TW was going to be off on Valentine's Day, and thus staying at home on Sunday. So a quick email to florist and they re-routed the delivery, which arrived at our home right at the appointed hour.

First thing the wife did, after kissing me (thank you...) was get out her mobile phone/camera...take photos of the bouquet, and then MMS the photos to her various girl friends... And then she had me take photos of her and the roses together...

It reminded me of an old episode with an ex back in the States. One year as Valentine's Day was approaching, I was arranging flowers for her, as was our custom, and because of her work schedule, told her I was planning to have them waiting for her at home when she came home from work that day... NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She protested... I had to have the flowers delivered to her office/work... That way.... all of her colleagues at the office would see what she was getting for Valentine's Day. If I just had them delivered to home, only she and I would know, and of course, that just wouldn't do...

Women certainly have an interesting way of looking at some things in life. But as a guy, as long as you understand that, things go along quite fine... :)

I lay on my bed watching HBO movies. :)

^well you choose to watch HBO in your bed. Time to get out and be social. :)

Don't.

I was told that flowers are a waste of money because Thais can't eat them. :D

Valentines Day was actually my daughter's 18th birthday.

It is the reason I am back in the UK.

As much as I miss my Teerak, I would not have missed my daughter's 18th for anything. Having said that, apart from sharing breakfast with her, she spent most of the day (quite rightly) with her boyfriend.

A very good father you are too :) I hope she had a great day.

But I am sure she appreciated your gesture. Being a teen is tough, they are naturally self centered (something some people never grow out of sadly enough!) but I can guarantee you that your gesture will be appreciated by her for the rest of her life.
