Richb2004v2
Has anyone here had any experience upgrading the storage space of their ASUS netbook, particularly the 901? There is quite a lot of info on the net but I thought I might get some first hand experience here. My issue is with whether I should go for a HDD or a SSD drive, with the later being much more expensive. Any information or opinion appreciated. Spoonman
What is the purpose of the upgrade, Faster load times or more capacity ??
H2oDunc
If it is just to give yourself more storage then simply get an external hard drive and move most of your files onto it. Cheap and convenient and takes no skill other than plugging in a USB. Tesco do a 250 gb HDD for 2000 baht
Richb2004v2
I want more space so that I can add more than one operating system. I like to use Linux so an extra 10gig would even be a benefit.
H2oDunc
Im pretty sure you can run Linux from an external HDD ? Just set the boot order to look for the drive if it is plugged in. As said they are now very cheap to buy.

Richb2004v2
That's a great idea. I actually already have an Ubuntu USB stick like this. I assume it is off course slower, but I wonder how much slower? I may get an 8 gig stick and make a Mint copy on it.
