I have always changed my own oil and serviced my own cars but have no experience working on a car with ABS. My 2008 Yaris has been flawless (but dull), anyway the owners manual calls for the brake fluid to be replaced at 40,000 kilometers. I've done this many times with old brake systems but dread the though of screwing with one that has ABS. (I also do not trust Thai mechanics to do it correctly). Anyone have any experience doing this on an ABS system? Any tricks to it, or do I just have someone push the brake pedal while I open and close the bleeding screws on the slave cylinders? With the high humidity here, changing the brake fluid seems to make sense and I want to be sure I do it correctly and not cause some error code in the computer etc. Any assistance would be appreciated.

why bother? Toyota does it for free until 3 years/60k km. you just pay for the brake fluid. and you get the correct brake fluid.

but, yes its like a non ABS car to bleed and refill. beware of the quality requirements for brake fluid.
