He encountered a woman known as Khun Joy aged 30 who suggested the pair go back to his Hotel and engage in sexual acts in exchange for a payment of 1,000 Baht. Mr. Metcalfe accepted the deal and the pair went back to the Hotel. Following love-making Mr. Metcalfe began to feel dizzy and passed out. He awoke on Sunday Night and realized the woman had stolen his possessions, including, a Rolex Watch worth around 300,000 Baht, 6,000 Baht cash, two gold rings worth around 40,000 Baht and an IPOD worth around 10,000 Baht along with a 10,000 Baht Nokia Mobile Phone. Makes sense, Soi 12, near to the Sportsmans so he can get a decent breakfast, loss of the rolex (it was real of course) will look good on the insurance claim so he's had his holiday paid for and he had Joy to boot.

Can you name me an insurance policy which would pay for the watch in these circumstances cos I sure want one like that.

It's an unexpected incident that's turning into an insurance scam is my read, either that or the guy's a real prat - he only has to recoup a small percentage of the value of the items listed on the police report to leave him in the money. If that's not the angle then of course it's all very unfortunate and in that case, the guy needed an education for going out on the p*ss whilst carrying over Baht 360,000 of easily disposable assets on him.

Maybe he just realised he'd way overpaid for a Beach Roader.

Exactly, 500 baht top-whack for a Beach-Roader + extra strong prophylactic. :)
