wondering about the above.

what do you think will happen with the airport bafore and after the Thaksin verdict?

I'm arriving into Bangkok on the 25th so for me it doesn't really make any difference.

Interestingly enough, the last time I came to Bangkok for a couple of months was when they closed down the airport, it opened again just before I left, which worked out quite well, for me anyway.

Have absolutely no reason to believe the airport will be closed.

do you have information nobody else knows about?

I sure hope not since I fly in on the 26th.

Gen Somchai has passed the word that main rally will be at Swampy, right next to the tum yum stand. (in case protesters get hungry) :)

I get back (after 2 months in India) at 5AM on the 27th, it better be open or heads will roll!!

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Other than Crossy, are there any persons arriving that the protesters might want to keep out? They don't just blockade the airport every time they have a grievance.

i can't gaurantee that nothing will happen, but i am not concerned as i have to travel back to the states for 3 weeks on the 27th.

so, 70 to 30% that the airport will be left alone... any other guesses?

Can you add a third option please;

[x] It's spelt 'Survarnabhumi' (at least on the English language roadsigns i read).

great, my girlfriend's first trip to the US is on the 26th, glad to see I have one more thing to worry about in addition to immigration :)

Yes that is how it is spelled in English, but the OP is closer to the correct pronunciation. sùwannápʰūːm

I would say you cannot rule out Red Shirts playing silly buggers on the approach roads to airport. :)

Different groups, different rules, different plans. I really doubt the reds would be allowed to do anything that would block the airport, and the yellows have no reason to.

You are right, but when you say 'Survarnabhumi' to a Thai, chances are high that he won't understand. Suvarnaboom - no problem :-)
