Get A Tourist Visa In Ho Chi Minh

Featured Replies

hi to all,

is it possible to get a single or (better) a double entry tourist visa in ho chi minh vietnam?

if someone did it, what are the requirements?

can i do it also in jakarta or bali.

i precise that i like to discover new countries, so i've never been in jakarta and never in vietnam, and if i can make a visa in these countries, i would enjoy a lot to visit ho chi minh, jakarta or bali.

many thanks to all.

In hcmc it can be done, but isn't recommended. Consulate office is a box, a single bench with 3 seats, with some standing space up to window. The person who takes your passport stands behind an imposing glass shield with a cubby hole to talk through. I only got single TR visa, I had to show an airline ticket to prove that I was going to thailand. They originally told me I had to show a departure from TL as well but said the entry ticket was most important, I didn't show a departure. As application was free at the time I figured it didn't hurt too much to try (not free after March 4) and I could just go on visa-exempt if not approved. Other than that the usual forms, photo, can't remember if anything else. That was my first and second TR visas, I won't be going there next time, likely Vientienne. Not sure how strict hcm will be if you already had several TR visas.

Oh if I wanted a double, it wasn't clear but seemed they said I would have to show multiple tickets (i.e. arrival, departure, arrival again, who knows what else).

Yep. HCMC is the politically-imposed name. I always hated it. How would it sound if NYC was renamed Clinton-ville, or Los Angeles was renamed BushLand?
