Need Help About Divorce In Thailand

I've got a strange situation and wonder how easy it would be to get a divorce in Thailand. I was married many years ago in the Philippines to a Filipina, but there is no divorce in the Philippines, only annulments which are expensive and can take several years to process and are not guaranteed to be successful.

I'm a U.S. citiizen, but I don't live in the U.S., and in fact haven't even been there for many years, nor do I plan on going back there for at least another year. I'm living in South Korea presently, but will be travelling to Thailand soon and wonder if it's possible for me to file for a divorce in Thailand, even though neither me nor my ex-wife is a Thai citizen. If it is possible, any ideas on costs, time, and where to start, i.e. name of a good but not too expensive attorney?

Thanks for your help.

I would say that the first place for you to check would be the US Embassy in Bangkok. That is where you have to go to get papers verifying you are not married if you wish to marry a Thai.
