3bb 10mbit

Featured Replies

Hi,

i order 3BB 10Mbit and they gave me a new modem/router.

do i have to use their modem or can i keep my old modem?

my modem is a Linksys (Cisco) ADSL2+ AM300.

thank you

u can use ur old modem

Let us know how it works. 10 Mbits sounds great!!!

If I remember correctly you should keep the 3BB modem stored somewhere. The might ask it back if you cancel the contract. But made my contract some time ago. Perhaps they changed this.

I know the website. But what is YOUR experience?

i don't know yet. they come on Monday and turn it on.

i let you know...

Yeah I'd like to know that as well. The website says "3BB Pro". Is that the new "Premier" or nothing to do with that? I have Maxnet Premier 3MB for 1,100 baht. Considering whether it's worth upgrading to 10 MB for 1,600 (1,490 + VAT).

i don't know if its premium.

btw, they definitely need a new line, they can't use the old telephone line.

Hi

I went to get a 10mb line as well but was told its only good inside Thailand, outside they say premier so i got a 3mb premier, indy is only good in Thailand as well,, she told me, but lets see how fast it is Monday :)

Inside Thailand/outside Thailand - nobody cares where the server stands. Did you ever check where the server is? Premium or Indy - I had both and found out that Premium has less download speed for a higher price. Those ladies do their job - good staff. I have both lines here - my Indy and the Premier of a friend some rooms away from me. But perhaps my experience is only true for my apartment block. Could be.

Hi

I had 5 mb indy before, my 3mb premier is faster

It is true that Premium has less nominal download speed for a higher price - but you will generally find that the actual speed is higher.

I've found there are no absolutes with regard to Internet in Thailand. Some people reports that they have tried and found an Indy line faster than a Premier, but the majority seems to agree that for "farang browsing" i.e. servers outside Thailand, Premier is much faster than Indy.

Back to 3BB; the term "3BB Pro" was new to me so I assumed it was 3BB's version of Premier. Maybe it is not so.

My 4Mb Indy is now a 4736/608 kbps connection - what does not exist as plan. But I am happy with it . Perhaps it is Indy with a little bit Premier or so. :)

That is the nominal speed. Try a speed test to a US or Euro server for the actual speed.

That is the connection speed of the modem I know or better the handshake speed. But I get about 80 + percent of this as real speed. Just checked again - see picture. It is not bad for Baht 590 :)

Yes, nice as long as the server is in Bangkok. Try again with a server in US or Europe.

Checked now Frankfurt - the download speed is even faster only the upload speed suffers. SF in CA is not bad too.

Premier doesnt mean its always better in the case for international speeds.

3BB 10mb is indeed good for the price. Since i moved from True to 3BB 10mb for the past few mths i never did once notice a drop in speeds but however i only get disconnected maybe once in a whole week.

i get about 10.5mb inside thailand and 10.2mb international around the US , japan , singapore.

speeds are pretty constant.

Yes, as I pointed out a few posts back, "I've found there are no absolutes with regard to Internet in Thailand. find attachment about the speed test.

1 for bkk and 1 for uk.speedtest.pdf

This bad result for Manchester I cannot understand. I get the same values for BKK and Manchester - Indy 4 Mb. Could you please make a test with Frankfurt and San Francisco?

3BB PRO have share ratio 20:1

3BB Premier have share ratio 10:1

Indy : 50:1

indy is 20/1 not 50/1 it's written on their paper.

3bb pro is 20/10 just the speed is "professional"

I'm using 5mb/1Mb Indy+ and it's usually quite fast in Ubon. I'll be upgrading to 8Mb soon. When I talked to the 3bb office a few weeks ago, they said they will be releasing a 20Mb option "very soon." Undoubtedly, this will increase the speeds for each price level as it did last time. Anyone have any idea when this might happen? I don't want to pay for a year in advance (saves 10%) if they are changing prices soon.
