February 21, 201016 yr Yesterday went to a second Toyota dealership. Here's what it seems to come down to. The sticker price is the price...period. All tax is included??? There's an additional "registration" fee. One dealer will give us 15,000 THB in accessories free, another 20,000 THB in accessories free. I'll get my own insurance (not Toyotas) and will additionally buy the roadside service package, which is good all over Thailand. The only other things I need to do are get a residency certificate from my embassy (I am on a retirement extension), bring my passport, and figure out how to transfer my funds from the bank to the car dealer. Contract in Thai. Does that about sum it up, or is there something I have missed? Thanks
February 21, 201016 yr As far as transferring funds for purchasing the car, the last time I did it, went to my Bangkok Bank branch, got a cashier's check, maximum 1 million Baht, and brought the rest in cash.
February 21, 201016 yr yepp but I would not transfer funds to dealer, transfer to your own thai bank account and pay the dealer with cashier check. roadside assistance does not work all over LOS (can be 300km away), have tryed it for a Honda. gave up waiting. and no need for Toyota. Never had one problem for my 6 LOS Toyotas, except for 10k km maintance/parts replaced.
