Pc To Tv Connector

Featured Replies

I was advised to purchase a pc to tv connector" 1200 baht cost" to enhance the picture on my LCD TV from my computer, After purchasing it and installing the resolution is not good enough, it is very difficult to read smaller letters, sometimes impossible, as my computer does not have a HDMI connection, it was installed with a VGA connection, I was then told i need to buy a computer with HDMI and connect it that way, I dont want to invest in this and then discover that the picture is not good enough. any ideas would be appreciated

You are never going to get a VGA signal that will be fine enough to read small print on a TV screen. An HDMI connector on your computer supposes that it has a graphic card that can provide you with a signal that is more compatible with a TV

I send my VGA signal to my LCD TV using a VGA cable but my TV accepts a "PC" input which is fine for watching movies or TV shows but I use my computer screen for text

Just buy a new graphics card with HDMI output for your exsisting computer.

I had a similar issue, I purchased a new LED Monitor it has HDMI and VGA inputs, my graphics card (GTS285) only had 2 dvi outputs but i found a dvi to vga converter sitting in my pile of junk....

The resolution was terrible, googling tells me using a converter to go from anologue to digital (and vice versa) is not really all that suitable so of i trundled to tukom to lash out on a new graphics card (with HDMI output), I now have an unbelievably crisp clear picture that displays text absolutely perfectly.

OP, are you using your LCD tv as a monitor or just for watching movies/tv shows ??

My Graphics card does not have HDMI out either, but has VGA and DVI outs. This has worked great for me. The VGA goes to my LCD monitor, whilst the DVI connects to my TV via a 15 metre cable that comes with DVI on one end and HDMI (for input to the TV) on the other. This gives me a true Full HD picture on my TV - lovely! The cable cost me about 1,000 Baht, but was a pain to track down in Chiang Mai - involving a trawl of the various computer plazas... The nice thing with these digital cables is that you can do long cable runs without suffering signal degradation.

thank you for the info, i want to generally use my LCD screen for computer use, so i need clear text reading, the pc to tv connector with vga connection is unreadable when smaller print is displayed, i cant even read my skype contacts, so you think from the info i have given that an HDMI graphics card will solve the problem ???

Yes to the posts above.

If you just want to improve the matter a bit without throwing money at the problem, try reducing the screen resolution on the computer, it will give the TV a chance at displaying the text. Really fine print that displays fine on a computer screen at 1024x748 etc will only show up on a more modern / expensive TV screen.

What resolution is your TV? If you computer is a desktop then a Raedon 4350 with HDMI out (not all have it so check) will cost well under 2000 Baht and give you full HDMI up to full HD. It will give you the best possible picture on your TV. I have one of these in a Home Theatre PC I built. This is about entry level for a graphics card for you, if you are into gaming you will need to spend more money.

If your TV is full HD (1080P) LCD/LED you will have no problem reading the fine print.
