Jomtien Immigration Office

Phuket Immigration office is well organized and all the officials (except one) are generally jai dee. The chief of the office is a woman of very stern demeanor ((edit)) No messing around, tea money, nothing but quite efficient processing. The several farang aides are decent and helpful.

I went to the Phuket office for my extension and I confirm that this office is quite efficient and well run. I went in, fill the papers, they gave me the number and 15 min later I was out with my extension. They took around 5 minutes for each extension so the service is very fast. If you know the chief office woman give her my best regards for her well run office.

She is one scary looking woman.

My friend made a big mistake with his memory and was 9 days late for his 90 day report. You are given 7 days grace (on a Friday) and he was sweating bullets. I told him that if asked, tell the truth, you forgot!!! Period.

He gets there Monday morning, the guy looks at his passport and points to the calendar. Friend said yeah, sorry, I was working and I forgot all about it and thought I was inside the 7 day period.

Guy does the paperwork in silence. Hands the passport back and says " today you lucky day, you speak truth"!
