On 9th June, Bua Kan Unon, the village head of Ban Noncharoen in Si Sa Ket, deployed a 17-member village security team to patrol the Thai-Cambodian border near Khao Phra Wihan. Their mission focuses on preventing drug-related issues, monitoring unfamiliar individuals, and bolstering local safety. The team actively patrols the area several times daily, providing a reassuring presence for the residents. This support helps villagers feel secure and not isolated along the frontier, allowing them to continue their lives normally without fear or panic. Picture courtesy of Thai Rath Twenty-two individuals from Prachin Kallayanee School in Prachinburi were hospitalised due to severe vomiting and stomach pains, primarily after consuming chicken rice from the school's canteen. On the afternoon of 9th June 2025, rescue workers received reports of a food poisoning incident at Prachin Kallayanee Secondary School in Prachinburi's Mueang District. Students reportedly experienced intense stomach pain and vomiting following lunch. Emergency services transported 22 affected individuals – 14 students and 1 teacher – to Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital and 7 to the Military Camp Hospital. Medical teams provided urgent treatment, including hydration and monitoring symptoms. While some parents took their children home after treatment, others remained hospitalised for observation. Mr Chanathip Khokmani, Deputy Governor of Prachinburi, along with local officials, visited the hospital to support the parents and students. Initial findings suggest the cause may be the chicken rice consumed at lunchtime, described by students as noticeably wet but otherwise typical in taste. Ms Dokmai, the canteen vendor, asserted that the food preparation followed hygiene standards, as practised for 15-16 years, and doubted the food's involvement. The authorities are investigating the food's quality, and the public health department has been tasked with examining the school's food handling procedures. While the situation is reportedly under control, with home permissions granted to several students, further investigations are underway to ensure student safety and address food safety protocols in local schools. Bangkok’s Roads Are a Bloody Joke Now — Mates, It’s a Crime Scene Out There
Lads, can someone tell me when exactly Bangkok’s roads turned into a warzone? No, seriously, when did the streets go from smooth silk to pothole bingo? Used to be, ten years back, I’d take the harken Fireblade out late at night, Bangkok all lit up, cool breeze, empty streets, mate, it was high-speed poetry. Proper freedom. You could tear it up from World Trade to Bang Na, lean into the corners like Rossi, not a care in the world. Midnight Bangkok on two wheels? Pure bliss. Now? All you got left is Rama 9 and Vibhivadee, barely. Otherwise, it's like riding through a scrapyard blindfolded. Every single road’s been dug up, patched, dug up again, patched again, repeat that about fifty times, but no one ever bothered to actually repave the thing. It’s just holes patched with more holes. You’re not riding anymore, you’re surviving. Suspension’s screaming, rims getting buckled, and don’t get me started on the manhole covers sitting two inches above the tarmac like they’re out here doing parkour. I don’t know who’s running the show, BMA and city planning must’ve been handed over to someone’s cousin’s mate who’s never seen a road in his life. Used to be you could cruise at 3 AM, nothing but you, the hum of the engine, and the city lights stretching ahead like a runway. Now? Every hundred meters there’s a trench like they’re about to lay fiber optics straight to the center of the Earth. What happened to the pride in the roads, eh? Thailand’s got some of the craziest bikers in the world as it is and now they’re stuck dodging potholes like playing hopscotch on acid. It’s embarrassing. The bikes deserve better, we deserve better. Bangkok used to be a nighttime playground for riders, now it’s a demolition derby for scooters with bald tires. I swear, if I hit one more raised drain cover, I’m writing a strongly worded letter to someone’s mum. Sort it out, Bangkok.
