http://www.bia.co.th/023.html The Foreign Employment Act

Please read this, so you will understand that what is needed and allowed for a job in Thailand.

Pay attention to Prohibited occupations and the General criteria for approval of a work permit

the employer works in the tourist sector and brought at least 5,000 tourists to Thailand during the preceding year;

(iv) the employer employs at least 100 Thais;

that sounds not too bad 4 me

my son is 18 when I do move to Bangkok,

Don't convince me, try that with the Thai authorities. Good luck.

There are ways to work around the Act. A few years ago I empolyed a Burmese girl as a secretary, also a prohibited post, but we titled her position as " multi lingual customer relations manager", she spoke several languages and had no issue with a work permit. If the employer really does want to employ, it just needs a little creative thinking and I would be sure that with the language skills o your son this should not be to hard to dream up.

best of luck.

what is the real intention of the poster,

getting a job for her son....?

if a person wants a son to get a job in another country.... a mother would provide all sort of info.... to enable capable others to consider and help....

really, do not know what to make of this post though.... :)
