If moving province, do I need to change the cars registration details and get a plate from that province for the car?

It is not necessary to change the plate. Let’s say if you have initially registered this car with a Bangkok Plate Number, later you decided to reside in Pattaya (Chonburi), then the report of the changing of address and changing of the number plate is not necessary.
