Gold, the undisputed "safe harbor". Or is it?
I am starting to feel a bit uneasy. More and more "financial advisors" pushing Gold as a uncontested "store of value", a "safe harbor". The "can't lose" syndrome making the rounds. Those financial advisors forgetting to mention, that Gold has gone thru "bear markets". The last one lasting from July 2011 to December 2015. From $ 1830 down to $ 1060. Not sure if Gold holders considered Gold as a store of value during this time. Let's face it, Gold is a metal (a commodity if you will) it's value measured in US$ daily. Supply and demand, just like in any other commodity. I find it disturbing that increasingly financial advisors are recommending Gold to small investors as a "can't lose" investment. -

People keep posting, Thailand expensive, but I'm not seeing it!
I stick with Big-C which seems ok and every other week has a 10% member's discount. They had blueberries on sale earlier this week for 79 baht (half the usual price of other places). We bought 3 pannets. The main thing is to avoid the markets that cater to foreigners (as much as possible), because the prices have always been much higher - particularly the best known one. Their main competitor seems stuck in the 1990s, and never changes/adds anything. Overall, there is less competition in the bigger supermarkets these days. That's too bad. Reflection of how so few seem to own everything and control prices. For those in the Bangkok area, if you ever get a chance, take a trip up to Rangsit and Dalat Thai for some really fresh produce and good prices. Place is massive. Go in the morning. -

Seems you are saying it's "True" system failure vs a BYD app/server problem. I'm getting a mobile connection 4G/3G connection on the infotainment system...everything appears the SIM is talking to the mobile network, but the BYD app and BYD servers are not talking to each other. Has your/the wife's BYD app starting talking to the car again now after the system failure you mentioned? -
