but is unable to play it

Any Advice?

Thanks in Advance

Nero Vision will do it.

Lots of information and free converters to download at doom9.org, you can, with patience and a bit of skill, convert anything to anything while keeping the quality high.

OJ Soft Total Video Converter is the best thing for Noobs.

'convert x to DVD' is one good program, will get anything ready for a DVD. Also, to convert a video file, the free 'Format Factory' is great!

An AVI you must convert to DVD format before you can burn it.

Best multi converter: Format Factory

Best AVI to DVD burner: Movie-DVD-Maker

Both 100% free and work flawless.

More good options

You can use xillisoft avi to dvd converter works great for me and you can get dvd flick for free and add subtitles very easy to use has a subtitle add button not a bunch of things to do. Good luck

As explained on another thread, buy a DVD player with USB connection and play direct from the HD. Some are less than 1000 baht.

As above. Big C have them and you just put your files on a USB stick and plug it in. EASY!!!!! :)

Seconded the last 2 posts.... why convert? This problem has been around a few yrs now, just get new hardware that can play the avi's. After one sees how long it takes to convert an avi using software to a DVD playable format you will know it makes sense.

I had this problem a while ago. I posted here and got good advice (as always). But the other day I bought a new DVD player from Tesco that plays everything. Now I just put the DVD containing the AVIs into the machine and it plays them. Or as others said I can actually plug the memory stick in and play from there. Brilliant, and only 1390 bht!
