On-the-BTS Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Hi all, My 5-month old Boston Terrier looks to be developing a problem with cherry eye. His nictitans gland prolapsed last Friday while I was out of town and he was staying at my fiancee's house so I didn't actually see how bad it was, but they took him to a local vet in Prachachuen and they were able to push it back into place. From what I have read online, it is highly likely that the condition will return sooner or later and he may need to have it corrected surgically. Anyone have any experience with this in Bangkok? His regular vet is at Thonglor Pet Hospital and I will definitely be taking him there to get their opinion and an idea of what surgical options they offer. Again, from what I read online there are surgeries where the nictitans gland is put into place more securely with minor surgery, rather than removing the whole thing (as was done in the past, apparently) and probably having problems with dry eyes for the rest of the dog's life. Just thought I'd ask if anyone had any pointers on this before I take him to his regular vet later this week. Cheers.
illinigrl2 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Hello! I had a bulldog that had Cherry Eye, and I took her to a local vet on Phattanakarn soi 65. I think it didn't even cost me 300 baht. She did a great job and I had no more problems with it again. I would recommend her for sure! Julie
