Wow,

more and more violence in Pattaya, would never happen anywhere else.Shut Pattaya down and hide your daughters, maybe sons too.

I also heard about some cars that are parked wrong and loitering people !!

C'mon, how does a snatched bag make the news?

Could it be, perhaps, because the newspapers have reached their quota of other, more newsworthy (?) but allowable news items for the time being. Those such as hit and run cases, "suicides" and drunken farangs being beat up, drugged and robbed, or falling off buildings etc ???

I'd say this was a news story on its own and certainly taken with the other Russian headlines recently.

1. I think "everyday" crime is woefully under-reported here. If some posters think this is happening every day, where are they getting that info from? Not the Pattaya news outlets.

2. By sheer weight of numbers in the resort, or through bad luck, simple naivety, bad judgement and, OK, drunkeness, Russians have recently seemed to become disproportionately the victims of the few crimes that have been reported in what I believe is an increasingly (self?)-censored press. If the same number of Finns, Brits, Germans and Aussies are getting raped, whacked with planks and mugged, why aren't we hearing about it more?
