Proof Of Residence For Drivers License

Featured Replies

After reading through the post on obtaining a drivers license I am a bit confused on one point the proof of residence.

I have a proof of residence from the Thai Immigration office is this acceptable or do I need a proof of residence from my (US) consulate?

I have a valid US drivers license if that makes any difference. Also I am living here on an ED visa.

If I need my proof of residence approved by a US consulate is there one in Phuket? I see a phone number listed but no address.

I am hoping to get my license by Friday.

Correct the immigration residency form is what you need.

Also, regarding the US license, they asked me to print out the page which describes what a class c and m are, that way I could skip the driving and written test. I only had to do the the reaction, color and depth perception tests.

I only showed my yellow book no letter needed from immigration at all. Im not actually resident either

They want a work permit or a letter. I know because I just renewed my 5 year lisence this week. The new one is 6 years. Plan on 1.5 hours. The video is 1 hour. 400 something baht.
