i can safely say the chaopraya hotel 450 to 600bht depending on size of room

we have stayed there many times and never had a problem

it is also near all the night life and some good bars, shopping and restaurants,

i hope this is of some help

and know you can get an A/C room for 300 baht but I wouldn't stay there even if they paid me (the place is an absolute dump) but saying that the restaurant (more like a transport cafe) next door which is part of the hotel does the most fantastic steak breakfast I have ever had for 60 baht

I was told it was the officers mess in the Vietnam war but I'm not sure I can believe that (it does have the feel of a American diner though)
