I am currently on Non-B Visa with Work Permit from my company.

In case i initiate the closing of my company,, what happens to my Visa/WP status ??? I heard that Closing a Company Limited is a long process. Obviously 4 staff must be offloaded during the process of shutting down.....but then,, continuing my WP becomes illegal as i do not any staff.

Alternatively, if I cancel my WP as soon as i commence the closing process, i cannot sign any paper work thereafter for closing the company.

This seems to be one more chicken and the egg situation.....am not able to guess any logical method to go about.

can any member experienced in this process...Please advise what (in practice) happens to Visa/WP status when the sole foreign Director decides to close the company in thailand.....????

Thank you!!!

You fire all the staff, with proper benefits, and then close down the company. Your lawyer and/or accountant will be doing most of the work. You should arrange a new visa or extension for remaining in Thailand before your WP becomes invalid since your current immigration extension of stay is tied in with the WP. Once you fire the staff, cease operations, and lock the doors then you are effectively out of business.

The Op does not state the basis of his permission to stay, but if on extension of stay linked to employment then he will need to change his extension status or obtain new visa before his current permission to stay terminates (ie, work ends). If he is on multiple entry Non-Immigrant visa he can remain here until his current permission to stay expires, and do further border runs for new 90 day entries whilst visa remains valid.
