Skype And Linux

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am having a problem with running my video in skype. The problem is i cant see anyone when they switch on their video/camera. I have googled this problem and there are a few forums that suggest the 'fix' for it.

The thing is i am a bit of a duffer when it comes to computers. Can anyone give me a step by step answer to fix this problem???

Thanx

Need a little more information.

Have you gone into options-video and checked the settings?

I find that you really need to search the forums thoroughly for a good answer. Sometimes there are easy ways to fix things, but they're hard to find.

To make it is you have to use LOGITEC cam, the rest don't like linux and are not supported , unless their devise driver is supplied by linux.

Install KOPETE or CHEESE and test and adjust the colour by using their cam setup.

do an lsusb and post the result see if your cam is supported.

Type lsusb in the terminal

the copy past from EDIT at the top of the terminal
