Ao Nang/krabi Town

Featured Replies

will be travelling to Railay in a few weeks but was thinking of spending a night in Ao Nang/Krabi for one night beforehand.

just wanted some info on which place would suit me best for one night of fun? as the rest of my trip will be spent on secluded islands with no bar scene,i hear Krabi/Ao Nang has a small bar scene, which one is the best in BM's opinions? and does anyone have any hotel recommendations that are guest friendly? willing to spend 1000-1500 baht for the one night before heading to railay the next morning.

any help much appreciated,thanks :)

Krabi is a built up area, so if you want to stay in a town it would suit you. Ao Nang is on the coast and near to Railay beach. Ao Nang has 2 streets with girlie bars one Soi solai and the other in town. You could go to Ao Nang and not be aware of the girlie bar scene (it isn't like Pattaya) I personally would recommend Ao Nang, many hotels to choose from. I stayed at Ao Nang Paradise hotel, well within your budget and very nice but there are many others, price range 500 baht upwards. Have a great time! :)

If its fun you're after then stay in Ao Nang as its tourist oriented and for the money you are prepared to offer theres loads of good accomodation which is guest friendly and without extra cost too!

Also Railay is only a 10minute boat ride away so it'll be easy for you to pop back while you are there if you need any more guests!

Agreed...Krabi is just a town. A few things to see, but Ao Nang is much better...but not as nice as Railay!
