Garmin Nüvi 205

Featured Replies

With the Garmin came a Cd with English Language and a Thai Language Map.

I changed in the Garmin Language to English.

The Points of Interest, Streets and Towns on the Map are all in Thai.

Is it possible to see those in English and if,how.

I Already pasted the English Map into the Garmin but this does not work.

Kind regards

Go to Tools/Settings/Map/Map Info and see just what map(s) are installed and selected. It will give you the map details there. If only a Thai map is listed you need to delete it and/or overwrite the English map to memory. Did the CD come from a Garmin dealer so it is unlocked to your unit, S/N on the CD? I assume it is an ESRI Thailand map.

You have the Thai map installed in the GPS. On the CD, click the English Language Map folder, what is the name of the map file? It should be either gmapprom.img or gmapsupp.img.

The Thai map in the Thai language map folder is call gmapprom.img and the size is 127,476 KB

The English map in the English language map folder is call gmapprom.img and the size is 115,232 KB

Delete the one you have in you Garmin and replace it with the English one, should work

Tools / setting / language (lips) to change thai - english or english - thai for 3 modes (voice / keyboard / instruction) if i remember
