Now sitting in an internet cafe,I was trying to get rid of the passwod screen on my PC that comes up when you log onto your PC.Normally you press ok and the login contiues

I did it it alright, now it comes up blue screen and blank Password box only and says enter Pass/User,and nothing will get me passed this stage, tried going to safe mode, and run Bios, but in bios the only thing I cant change is "set up username Password"

Ctrl/Alt/De will not work either.

Will not boot of the WinXP cd

I am surfing the net to find a solution at the moment, but if anyone can help,it would be great.

u need to get a boot CD that will boot you to a command line of c: , change the default screensaver to explorer.exe from there u can alter users/passwords/permissions etc..

simply turn yer computer on, wait 15 minutes or however long it takes for the screensaver to activate, and yer in :o

I never liked to use my screen saver, its set for the longest possible time to come on,maybe even turned it off.Do you think I could get a boot cd in Tukcom or somewhere?

I'm not sure what screen you are getting, but if it wants user name and password, try user name "Administrator" and a blank password.

1. Are you running XP-Home or XP-Pro?

2. Had you previously set any passwords (Administrator or User)?

Thanks a million,if I ever run into you drinks on me,I seached for over two hours on the net for a solution, and many people have had the same problem, but that worked, and allowed me to change the password.Big cheers

I'm really chuffed that it worked for you. But don't thank me, thank JSixpack - he suggested that name and password combination here when I had the same problem:
