KhunLing
Hi Sorry if this is a stupid question. Is a medical examination required for a work visa? A friend of mine would like to work in BKK. However, she has LUPUS. Would this be a problem?
markuk
I had to have a basic medical done, dont know what would have caused you to fail though..
dr_Pat_Pong
If they do want a medical, the cursory nature of it won't uncover Lupus.
chuchok
If they do want a medical, the cursory nature of it won't uncover Lupus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, a medical here can be done in record time for a small fee of between THB80 and THB200.Mine took no longer than time to fill out the form and get the doctor to sign etc.
dr_Pat_Pong
It is somewhat more expensive in the western clinics, and a bit more extensive too Edited May 29, 2005 by dr_Pat_Pong

Ajarn
You don't need a med cert to get the work visa (Type 'B'), but you will need to get the med cert for your Work Permit later... The cert is to check for communicable diseaes, drug addiction, and insanity. Nothing else. Your others states of health are of no concern to anyone Edited May 29, 2005 by Ajarn

KhunLing
If they do want a medical, the cursory nature of it won't uncover Lupus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks. Just wanted to clarify it for her before she considers going. Because of the air pollution in BKK, she may not be able to go anyway (Lupus flares up significantly in poor conditions). kenkannif
Mine (as others have said) was just a quick look up and down and bingo. I actually once did one for someone else that wasn't available to do it.
PeaceBlondie
There's a short list of diseases, and I think leprosy and elephantiasis are on the list. Not to worry. I mean, you'd probably know if you had one of those. I need one for my work permit, my driver's license, and maybe something else. Can I go in and ask for two exam papers?
