Bangkokpundit: Abhisit isn't probably convincing the red shirts; the yellows aren't any happy either. Are the neutrals convinced?

THE NATION: Rating for PM's address 4 out of 5 for clarity, conciseness, language determination and time spent (less than 10 mins including the title)

THE NATION: Thaksin speaking but Red TV signal's gone!!!!!

THE NATION: As for Thaksin, he said he wasn't shocked by chemotherapy, but he was shocked by media propaganda.

THE NATION: Interesting where Thaksin was speaking from. It was unusal close-up shot of him, impossible even to tell if it was living room or bathroom

THE NATION: He carried a mobile phone in one hand. (Obviously the transmission equipment was imperfect and he needed the mobile phone)

THE NATION: Thaksin also slammed soldiers for "not keeping promise" as PTV seemed to lose signals again.

PM vows to restore the rule of law

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva went on TV live Saturday night and vowed to restore the rule of law although the authorities failed in the mission to restore order during the day.

Speaking at a live TV broadcast from the Emergency Operations Command, the prime minister admitted that the authorities to prevent the protesters from breaking the laws again when the protesters stormed into the Thaicom uplink station to force for the reconnection of the satellite uplink.

The prime minister said he realised that the people, who wants to see the righteousness and the rule of law, were disappointed.

But Abhisit said he and the authorities could not feel discouraged and must not fail again.

He said the fight is not over yet and the government will go on stepping up efforts to restore the order and normalcy.
