As the reds led by Thaksin refused to negotiate AT ALL, actually a clash was inevitable from the start of this.

What clash? There was NO clash.....Law enforcement run away like rabbits.....

I would wager my last baht army and police are told to back down

if reds pressure them. if they let reds thru and reds cause damage

to person, place or thing ... gov;t then have cause/reason to

over run the reds.

That is twice now army/police/whoever have let thru the reds

to major buildings/sites - thaicom + gov't house

Both times as soon as the reds were about to enter and do whatever

they red shirt leaders order them reds to stand down.

Thai PBS broadcasting live now from Ratchaprasong. There are large groups of police mobilising in columns. Also, red shirts are passing out face masks soaked in water, obviously for what they feel is an impending tear gas volley.

My favorite image just now was of a man holding an infant, collecting one wet face mask from the red shirt agent. That's right...a man carrying an infant and accepting ONE face mask!

Well the precedent of the airport opened up the rachaprasong seizure. Now the precedent of rally with impunity until the government goes can be used by others too I guess. The only answer is the powerful onbes agreeing a set of rules they can all abide by otherwise it is an endless cycel of mayhem

I don't see why they're worried about tear gas at Ratchaprasong. If the army didn't get rough with them up in Pathum Thani, they surely won't try anything in downtown Bangkok!

Ummmm did you not notice that this is the same guy that announced what he said in his first paragraph as a fact less than 48 hours ago as fact?

While I agree with his last sentence, the author is using this to back up the faulty knowledge he claimed to have recently. (Listening too closely to the reds perhaps? since his piece came out about the time Arisman was breaking into Parliament and the red leaders were spreading rumors to get Arisman out of parliament)

Read what Thanong wrote right at about the time that Arisman was invading Parliament. He alludes to it in his first sentence. It turned out to be 100% wrong but he is standing by it in this article.

I think you are making one mistake here; If these were people with political grievances and an understanding thereof, I would agree, but the majority are nothing but uneducated, IQ challenged people who are only here because Mr. T is paying them.

It probably has more to do with the military command reshuffle and military budgets coming up than anything else. Also, wouldn't it be a bit disingenuous for them to be protesting for a true democracy to exist in 9 months? If you want something, chances are you want it now.

Thaksin need elections now so that he can buy the result and control the reshuffle. Once he controls the army, he can walk back without a problem.

Someone enlighten me here. If the Reds succeed in dissolving the House, win a new election, and bring back the criminal as PM, wont he completely reshuffle the army to his favor? In this case, Annupong and any successor will be history. So why wouldn't the army be backing the Dems now, allowing this to get as far as it has gotten?
