Thai Anti-Riot Squad Cut Up By Soldiers In Black

What a joke :)

Someone using some dubious photos to scam the Red shirts ???

We can see for the first man in the black carry a M16 or Carbine with a Silencer Attached ! That means he's firing Blanks !

If you want to scam someone pls do your homework first :D

What the hel_l are you talking about??

That is a M16A2 rifle (circa mid-1980s) with a long (Albeit Rusty) Barrel attached total Barrel length of 508 mm

It is most defiantly not a Colt M4 and M4A1 carbine assault rifle witch has a much shorter Barrel length of 370 mm

It has no Silencer attached at all

And tell me where installing a silencer automatically says your firing blanks?

Isent the whole point of Firing blanks to have the noise and not the projectile?? so installing a Silencer onto a gun and firing blanks would be totally pointless..... Although I do believe those Idiot monkeys in black running around that day would have no clue in any case.....

Do your homework before trying to make out you know what your talking about "multistar28"

Perhaps you should go back to the air-soft range with your friends...

To add, What kind of idiot would use a silencer to shoot blanks? Could'nt he just say, "pew, pew, pew"?

DEADLY CLASHES

Hunt is on for armed terrorists: Suthep

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Deputy PM alleges culprits linked to core DAAD leaders.

Strict measures have been taken to deal with armed terrorists among the redshirt protesters, while the police has launched an investigation into the use of warweapons on soldiers and protesters during the clash on Saturday night.

A police team has been set up to hunt down the men carrying automatic rifles, who in media footage were seen mixing in with the redshirt protesters during clashes at the Khok Wua intersection, Deputy PM Suthep Thaugsuban, who oversees internal security, said.

"We can't let these terrorists walk free on the streets.

Whoever they are, or work for, they must be arrested," he said, adding that the red shirts were in possession of hundreds of assault rifles that they either confiscated from soldiers or troops had left behind while retreating.

He said the redshirt movement wanted to change the country's system, and did not care about government rule.

Suthep, who is also director of the Centre for Resolution of Emergency Situation, alleged that these armed terrorists were connected to core leaders of the Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship, adding that some of them had previously worked as guards at various protest sites.

"Once those leaders are arrested terrorism charges might be put against them," he added.

so the tide is turning, the reds who initially blamed the government entirely for the deaths of the red supporters, have now, in a vain attempt to try to cover themselves as this thing unravels, have had to concede that there was a 'third hand' at work amongst them whilst still denying all advance knowledge of any plot to kill reds

this has been revealed despite the reds trying to close down the media, supress evidence, offer no help to authorities to bring these people to justice and trying to explain away about these 'men in black' being simply guards & confiscated weapon carriers to red storage sites

its a media war they have lost, a battle lost to the ordinary people of Thailand that know the difference between right and wrong

ordinary people have had the courage to identify these men in black

in fact the outraged ordinary peoples response has been so prolific that within 72 hours of the massacre its now become common knowledge who the men in black are.

its only a matter of time before they are found and reported to the authorities by those same people

Se Daeng is furious they have been identified and is now publicly threatening that the hunters may become the hunted

so its a tense time for the red leaders and especially for the mercenaries themselves

all the parties involved in this plot, know it will only take the capture of one of them to bring down this entire red deception

the mercenaries should already know that because of their own sloppy work they have become a target themselves simply to shut them up

the red leaders will be advocating that they ought be shut up and fast, to protect them so they cannot implicate them or their paymasters

they know if one of these people is captured and talks to the government, this is all over for the reds movement forever

even the most ardent red supporter would not stand for their own people being shot to make a political point

if the truth comes out, the red leaders who conspired with sa daeng and the mercenaries in this massacre will not need to be arrested by the government

they will be killed by their own people

Abhisit should make some moves to help the mercenaries, the reds and Thailand out of this dilemma:

the government should offer a bounty of 20 million baht to the first mercenary to be handed over to the government

they should be interogated and be made to tell who, what, where and when.

if they were to hand themselves in voluntarily then the mercenaries should be offered amnesty, big money and a new identity, if they will tell them everything they know and testify against their bosses

i realise this is an unpleasant scenario but when when considers whats at stake, its a prudent move

the alternative is not attractive for the mercenaries

the hunt is on for them by some very determined people out to avenge the death of their colleagues

they could surrender to the authorities and reap the benefits of a settlement and amnesty or they will eventually be killed by their own people to keep them quiet

in their line of work, they should know this already

if not someone should make them aware of whats likely to happen and quick before they dissapear................ permanently.

If Suthep's latest comments are anything close to the truth, then there is reason to believe that those comments about one group wanting to 'change Thailand' is not simply about dissolution of Parliament. You know it's the one thing we can't discuss it here, but that's what it points to.

We have 1. Redshirts, 2. Army, 3. Blackshirts targeting Army commander... So then, why would it be inconceivable that there was a 4th element? Elite trained shooters (proof is in the autopsies) popping unarmed redshirts with some 4th party hidden agenda? Before you contradict this, remember this is Thailand.

Too many uncertainties at the moment to know what the bigger picture is.

Too soon to assume that the trail of blame lies solely with the red leaders on stage and Thaksin. For sure, they are the ones in the limelight giving it large and spouting all the rhetoric, but what else is going on behind the scenes in this power struggle. The red protesters' rallies are extremely well oiled at the moment and arrest warrants are just threats and in no way a hinderance to performing their daily duties. If there were a will to arrest any of these leaders it would surely have happened by now. It's one big theatre for sure.

There is every reason to suspect that there is a growing faction within the army who oppose the old guard. If this faction gathers momentum then full out civil war edges ever nearer.

Don't forget that Thaksin has a 'friend' in a very high position.

Highly possible. Nobody posting here is close enough to the puppet masters to really know what is happening. Everyone is second guessing and probably will be long after all this becomes yesterday's news. Doubtful that the entire truth will ever come out.

Once you add a 4th hand (party) you might as well not discount a 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th arms like an octopus (don't even get started on calling them tentacles ... squid have tentacles!) each of them squirming around in a pool of blood trying to get their share on the pot of gold left by a future vacuum of power.

There sure are lots of different groups running around. I suppose you could call this the fake saffron "shirts" that typify the so-called "monks" of the reds. This one took part in the March 28 red rally and whose pic is making the Thai mass emailing rounds.

It's almost like a Photo Hunt contest. Spot all the less than optimal monk traits:

long hair

sun glasses

head phones

smoking

overly casual leaning on car

incomplete robing

The M16 is deffro an A1 instead of an A2. I slept, bathed and train with it for a few years. I can recognise it from a mile away. Cheers

Are you sure?

http://world.guns.ru/assault/as18-e.htm

Yes. Im sure its an A1. I can tell apart all the other variants too. The hand guard looks a tad similar to the A2 in the photo. But take a closer look, its not the ribbing of an A2. Those are the holes underneath an A1 that makes it look like the ribbed handguard of an A2. Cheers

So it could be an inside job, army killing army. This is the possible green laser that identify the chief head, to tell the shooter where to land the bomb.

Please, let us have some truth. Look at the video, play it a few times.

The soldier in question fires a handgun into the air (30 degree angle), his assigned job.

The soldier's handgun does not have a laser.

He is then spotted by a laser from a long distance (large beam size, shaking).

He then appears to collapse, as if hit by something or maybe startled by the laser.

End of video.

Maybe you mean this soldier was targeted by the same forces that killed the commanding officer.

Armies do not usually kill their commanding officer to make the other side look bad.

Conclusion: None, most likely not the army.

So the question now is, what should the government do?

They're in a horrible position, with "unknown" people amongst the red shirts killing soldiers and getting red shirts killed (got in the way of the black soldier, got in the way of military fighting back, whatever), and the reds doing nothing to help the government catch the shooters or even willing to negotiate an end to the protests.

And they reds just announced today that they would move all protesters from Pan Fah to Ratchprasong. Too difficult to defend two areas I would imagine. Also there are many thousands of 'innocent' redshirts at Ratch. And they big malls being held hostage. The damages to life and property would be enormous if the military tries to disperse the protesters from there.

These guys in black: I read over a year ago that these were Taksin's full-time thugs, retained at 1,000b/day.

They were all over the place since this began last month. I see pickup trucks filled with them all the time. There are always a few of them wearing t-shirts with "POLICE" on them (written only in English). From what I've seen in life real cops don't take too well to impersonators, but this is Thailand and there's nothing a few baht couldn't remedy.

I'm really sick of this duplicity. These people have been sitting in the sun for a month listening to impassioned speeches about burning, bombing and the flowing of blood, and then everyone is shocked when these things start to happen. Peaceful protesters don't need an armed contingent.

The best news we can hope to hear is that Taksin has been abducted by space aliens. But they wouldn't want him either.

The fans of the page organised the gathering at through the page to show their support for the government and oppose the red-shirt movement's call for early House dissolution.

During the gathering a group of red-shirt motorcyclists rode past the group and the two sides hurled abusive words against each other with no violence.

I really find it hard to believe that so many people believe the UDD would pay people to murder their own supporters just to get some international sympathy. Because as a tactic it does not further their cause inside. Thailand

Actually the only group that stands to benefit from killed or injured protesters is the UDD.

Then why is it that every time there is a protest movement in Bangkok which is opposed to army involvement in politics they are murdered by the Thai army.

As in 1973, 1976, 1992 and now 2010.

So if the army have nothing to gain from it why do they keep doing it?

That was then - this is now, but there's military on both sides like before.

This was supposed to be Big Jew's last hurrah, and I guess he wasn't going to leave anything in the locker.

The King advised the old 'gangster in green' to retire from 'politics' years ago - which he eventually did, until he started working for Thaksin again.

Herding all the sheep in to one pen for the slaughter... what a mess this is. I'm beginning to think that the real objective of the Red leaders is not the dissolution of The House but something far more serious. Then again, maybe the Red don't know what their next step is either. Certainly the government doesn't seem to know what it is doing.

None of this is seems to be making sense to anyone reading the news or posting here regardless of your positions on the issues. I think we are all equally stumped.

Cheers, Alex

Yes. Far more serious and significant. Do not discuss. Don't be stumped. Read between the lines. Read all sources you can, and try to put the pieces together.

I've changed my opinion. This is armed insurrection bordering on civil war. The battle lines have been drawn. The battlefield is being prepared. Both sides are readying their forces. We can only sit and watch helplessly as Thailand tears itself asunder. Let us hope for a 'miracle' and that all sides can step away from this madness before it really is too late.

A neutral national unity government may be the best solution if these two parties and their supporters don't calm down soon.

Good thinking; part of the framework of The Joseph Solution, which I have been proposing for over a year, contains building blocks along those lines.

It also involves some elements of the most successful participatory democracy in world history, the Six Nations - Iroquois Federation and other architecture that cannot be discussed, even with people dying in street battles. :)

they have to do something quick, if they do not get a victory before the government gets one of the ''men in black'' to testify against them then they know its all over

one man out of 65 million with incontravertable evidence about the random red killings ordered by the red leadership on Saturday night could save this whole country from disaster

one man.....

maybe even Thaksin will throw them to the dogs and try to come out looking like a saviour and save himself in the process

he's treacherous enough to do that expecially if the government returned his money

maybe someone should put such a scenario to him, if he hasn't already considered of it?

Just got to hope that the yellow's or the anti dissolution supporters don't get involved in this. But you have to ask just how much more can the Bangkokian's take before there is a reaction.

It appears from earlier reports that the military are still backing Abhisit, so anything can happen here on in.

You are right to have changed your opinion J. Its already too late though, its been too late for a while. Thailand is already a failed state and we have to stand on the sidelines while it renews itself - fortunately, as foreigners, if we are sensible there is little risk to us. What will emerge from the wreckage will either be a full democracy or another Burma. Personally I would bet on the former but more lives have yet to be lost and a few Thais have to find themselves persona non grata.
