Okay, I sent my passport in to the embassy in Washington, D.C. get a multiple entry non b visa along with all the proper paperwork from the Ministry of Labour, the company wanting to hire me, etc. and I just received my passport back with a SINGLE entry visa. When I did this with paperwork from a university last time, there was no problem. They sent me back some money and no explanation this time. Anybody have any idea what the problem is or if it's possible to still get the multiple entry?

Once you get a visa, you are pretty much stuck with what you get. In fact, you are pretty lucky that they sent any money back. The US government rejects more visas in Thailand than it give out and it keeps the money regardless.

The US Embassy states in the application for a Visa that Fee will not be refunded - if Visa application is rejected.

Well I got a check back for $110 from the $175 I sent...just wondering if there's a reason they only gave a single when a multiple was requested by both parties...

If, as you say, you have all the paperwork from the Ministry of Labour and a non-immigrant "B" visa, then you can get a work permit upon arrival in Thailand. Before your 90 day permission to stay stamp has expired you would then apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on employment and re-entry permit from immigration. There is no need for a multi-entry visa if working for an established company.

They kept all the paperwork...I had the approval letter from the Ministry of Labour and all the company info. Isn't the work permit paperwork a bit different? I got a multiple entry before when all I had was a letter from Chiang Mai University saying they wanted to hire me once I had completed a TEFL course...

As "InterestedObserver" stated you can use the single to apply for the 1 year extension. When I first got my Non B in Bangkok 3 years ago it was only valid for 3 months, and before the 3 months expired I was told by the IO to go to my provincial Immigration office and they would grant me the 1 year extension. I did exactly that and have been granted a 1 year extension based on the original non B visa ever since, so you should not have a problem.

If you have a legitimate job offer, with prior approval from the Ministry of Labour, from an reputable company or university then all you need is single-entry Non "B" visa. Work permit and 1 year extension of stay can then be obtained in a timely manner once you are in Thailand.

So did you get a work permit, or did you just show up with the original paperwork from the Ministry of Labour. All they've sent back is the letter from the hotel and the 5" X 7" piece of paper from the MOL...
