Abhisit must go, the sooner the better. He has not only the higher education comparable to George Bush, but the same political instincts as George Bush to go with it. No other PM has been as destructive to Thailand

Really? Let's go to the instant replay:

You right Thaksin was much better.

He did an excellent job by selling the only satellite country had, plus really helped locally owned airlines by changing the law to allow AirAsia to fly domestic. So you right , he was a much better PM and much more constructive then anyone else ever!

Also Thaksn was truly amazing, not only he managed to constructively govern the country but also run his multi billion $ businesses at the same time .

Or wait was his business to rape the country to personally benefit?

How you compare Bush to Abhitist is beyond me, but i guess that is why the say everyone sees what they want, or possibly selective eye sight.

Thank buddha that Thaksin sold the satellite. Who needs more satellites and TV stations under government-military control. 50,000 Thai websites censored, what is Abhisit afraid of?

What are you talking about? are you drunk?

Websites are censored either for porn or monarchy insults.

One station has been blocked and its associates to stop spreading violence message.

Seems you just posting some crap just for the sake of posting.

If you do not have anything constructive to add, perhaps its better to just stop.

This guy must be one of the none educated thai's himself because if he knew who Che really was he would pick another nick - anyway another red shirt

You're calling me "none educated"? :):D

YEP .. well you must be, considering your statement and choice of nick

Many people are educated up until Doctorate degree but they are not using their brains.

Thanksin is one example.

And many more here in TV.

I have to disagree.

Thaksin uses his brains all the time when it comes to benefiting himself. :D

Nothing like a pic of Khun Thaksin to have the PAD falangs reaching for the keyboard. When he comes back:

Wonder if he will close the bars earlier - oooooooooooooooooooooh say the mighty PAD falangs

Ban go-go dancing in beer bars - ooooooooooooooooooooooh please not that say the PAD falangs

Make visas harder for the low class sponging falangs who work with no permits and do jobs they are not allowed to do (work in bars, real estate, informal airport taxis) ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh not us, we are doing good for Thailand by working here say the PAD falangs.

Raise minimum wage for Thais employed by falangs as maids, skivvies and gardners to 1000 baht per day ooooooooooooooooooh, but how will we pay for our ladies of the night?

Make every Falang not on a proper visa, return to their country of birth for a 3 month visa and only allow them 1 per year. 9 months in Cambodia eh?

That is really why Thaksin is so unpopular with the PAD falangs on here.

If you want to see corruption on a massive scale, you should come to the great Thaksin heartland of Phuket!! See life in a Province that truly has escaped the influence of thaksin.

So according to your post, you would the rich farang, high class farang, who does not go to bars, does not need a visa, pays triple the wage, pays double the price for everything just to make sure that poor sellers have enough money?

But if you are that rich and that high of a class, should not you be the yellow? may be you little color blind, so please allow me to clarify it for you

The red are the poor, low class

The yellow are the rich and the high class

You have just taken the dumbest post of the year award! I wonder if you can beat your own record? :)

Really? Let's go to the instant replay:

Thaksin's quote:

2003

"UN is not my father" -- in a reply to a reporter when asked to comment on the Human Rights Office of the UN going to send officers to observe the implementation of the Thai Anti-drug scheme. [March 2003]

2004

"Please don't intervene. Please leave us alone. It is my job and we can cope with this matter. We are trying to explain this to foreigners. But if they do not understand or ignore our explanation, I don't care because we are not begging them for food." -- [1 May, 2004], in a radio address concerning crackdowns on Islamic militants.

"Terrorists in the south are nothing but petty thieves"

“There are some who died because they were fasting, and they were crammed in tight.” -- explaining the massacre in 2004 of 84 muslims crammed into military trucks

2005

"Those provinces that give their trust in Thai Ruk Thai will be our priorty" -- [31 Oct 2005] [[1]]

2006

“I only went to Singapore for shopping. I enjoyed the food and had a good time with my family.” --[6 Jan 2006]

"I know nothing about a sell-off, but if the family were to dispose of the shares, I would do the same.", --[9 Jan 2006], said Panthongtae Shinawatra, the eldest son of Thaksin.

“I don’t know. You’d better ask my children. I’m not the owner. They are.” --[13 Jan 2006]

“I don’t know. I’ve never told my children what to do. They normally advise me how things should be. They are the real owners. I still ask my wife for pocket money.” --[13 Jan 2006]

“They may have to wait until the next life to see me resign. Everything will proceed according to the rules and regulations of this country.” -- [14 Jan 2006]

"I won't get involved in any business. And my children, they have their own little businesses to take care of." --[25 Jan 2006]

"It's not as easy as selling khanom kheng ! (a Chinese sweet, used in Chinese New Year festival) How many purchasers do you think are out there? It's a 70-billion-baht deal. Who's going buy it? How many people on earth would have that kind of money?" --[25 Jan 2006]

"I have a lot of money so people are envy of me." -- Thaksin's respond to the public criticism on the scandal of 73-billion-Baht Shin Corp stocks deal sold to Singapore.--[25 Jan 2006]

"If only His Majesty the King whisper to me, Please quit, Thaksin, I will quit immediately," -- [4 Feb 2006] on radio address. [[2]]

“I will not resign because my resignation will not resolve anything.”

" It is a pity that some teachers nowadays are incompetent. They do not teach the right thing to students. As a result, those teachers are the ones that are going to destroy democracy", responded Thaksin after meeting with a group of university lecturers who supported him. This was stemmed from the incident that a large group of Chulalongkorn University's professors united to ask for him to resign since he didn't have righteousness anymore. -- [Feb 2006]

“We have received confirmation from all sources that the rumor of a coup is not true. The rumor was spread by some faction, but it is not true.” -- First statement while in New York, following the news of the 2006 coup.

Poorly educated should just about cover it.

Che Guevara was an embarrassment to the Cuban government.

Running off to indulge his infantile Third World fantasies.

Failed. Died while on the run.

He did leave a T-shirt however to be worn by the world's schoolboy bedsit revolutionaries.

Now we have one here doing a rah rah for Thaksin.

First time tragedy, second time farce.

[ I would add sympathizing with the red cause and supporting Thaksin are two completely different things

If only anyone who was a red shirt actually agreed with you CMF, it might add just an ounce of credibility to your statement.

Unfortunately, your position is not the position of the red shirts. Supporting the red shirts and supporting Thaksin ARE the same thing.

Please show me a single group of red shirt supporters who will vocally denounce Thaksin, and I will grant you some veracity to your statement. Heck, I might even support them. Until then, your statement is a position of fantasy.

Support the poor, rural Thais, yes. Support the reds, and by extension Thaksin? Absolutely not.

Edit: Just reread your statement. Maybe I was too quick to jump to conclusions. "sympathizing" may not actually be the same thing as supporting. I suppose I can sympathize with a terrorist without actually approving of him. I won't retract my earlier statement, but I will temper it that perhaps it could be misconstrued. I will never approve of or support the reds, but I can sympathize with the way some of their members have been misled.

Thank you - sympathise and empathise are the correct reflection of my views - although many on here have called me a 'Thaksin apologist' and worse

Your simplistic observations are in line with the yellow ruling elite that also understand nothing but keeping their masters snouts in the trough.

Sorry if this is also too complex for you, but issues usually are which is why this one has not been sorted out yet.

Basically, it is a rearguard action by a ruling class that is on the way out. They are on the way out as there is a natural phenomenon that happens to us all in the end!! They cannot cling on for ever, because they will not be here forever nor will we. Their rule will end and their pampered offspring are not up to the job of keeping the power in as ruthless a manner as in previous decades.

What will replace it depends on who gets the upper hand here. Abhisit has been on pole position since he was prised in by the army and they were hoping he would be able to pull off some sort of policy magic and perhaps be genuinely elected next time. This is not going to happen so they are consolidating their grip and calling muppets on to the street to pressure the army.

An election monitored by outside agencies should clear it up, but they cannot run the risk of the Democrats being defeated in an election for the forth straight time!! which is what will happen.

It is not much more difficult that this, but if you don't get it, why not do some googling instead of flaming and offering petty snipes.

What if Abhisit stays and the red leaders are shot? Do you really think that is a pretext for a happy ever after in Thailand?

Up to you if you do. You are entitled to your opinioin and that is part of free speach. Something that is lacking here now.

'The Motorcycle Diaries', is a good movie about the early Che.

What made him Che the icon may or may not be obvious.

When he still was a working MD. Before the uber-radicalism took over.

Sit down guys. Could be the break through we are looking for.

Che Guevarra was as evil and despotic a man as ever there was and people wearing his image are obviously very badly informed, if at all. And that is... wait for it, Red Shirts, Yellow Shirts, Commies, Capitalists, Students, anybody!!! A Che T-Shirt is a badge of ignorance!!

He banned music in a Taliban style reign of terror and a great irony was pointed out to Carlos Santana a few months ago. He turned up in a Che T-shirt and had it pointed out to him by some cuban exiles that the real Che had actually had people killed for listening to Carlos Santana Music.

How long we will be in agreement for is not sure!

More astounding and insulting to many, hyperbole...

let's dissect based on logical fallacy.

Your simplistic observations are in line with the yellow ruling elite

that also understand nothing but keeping their masters snouts in the trough.

By their very nature Masters will be anything but simple people.

They 'understand nothing' you say... lack of understanding doesn't sound

like how people become rich in ANY culture. Let alone Thais ancient kow tow culture.

As the rulers they ARE the masters,

so don't 'keep their master's snouts to the trough.

And the 'yellow ruling elite' as you so blithely tie them together as, would be the OWNERS of the trough.

ie the companies that move the nation forward and create jobs.

Through patronage the masters in a kow tow society allow others access to the trough,

and thus keep allegiances solidified. But the kow tow system is dieing slowly,

even if the societal inter-personal mechanisms that kept it alive are still deeply ingrained,

in individual consciousnesses.

As westerners, many of us often can't understand whey 'the Thais don't change quicker',

a thousand years of culture is a hard yoke to shake off, even in a few generations.

And many LIKE their culture not being very western.

Yet many westerners seem to expect this transition to be on their western time frame.

Soooooo,

your one sentence alone so misstates the reality,

it proves little knowledge, just hyperbolic ranting.

But on the other hand we seem to agree on Che.

The world stops and pivots in genuflection at the irony of it all.

It's another snide piece and another nail in the coffin of journalism at Thailand's premier PAD mouthpiece. References to weight and appearance that would not be tolerated against other groups. Imagine a piece on Hilary Clinton referencing her body shape and appearance and ignoring all she said? Thats how low this pamphlet has sunk.

This was an assassination attempt. All the footage showed the room shot to bits.

They are now pinning their hopes on the Army. Are the Army going to run the country now if the Police can't?

Want to see serious loss of income, support and face for Thailand? Then let the Army go on a killing spree.

I think the smart move for the Reds is to negotiate with the Army. Then they all win, Army, Reds and business district. Leaves Mark and Thaugsabun out in the cold hoping that their 300,000 facebook supporters are enough to outvote 30 million red supporters!!

Mind you, stranger things have happened here.

Hey Grandpops:

The piece was referring to the fact that this overweight red shirt leader was able to climb down a rope clumsily while the police couldn't stop him. This is an opinion piece not a news article. There's a difference. And it is embarrassing that this guy with a ponch can scurry down a rope while police are trying to nab him. If he was fit and climbed down swiftly the embarrassment would not be as great. THAT's the point.

Not hillary's calves.

Really? Let's go to the instant replay:

Please attach photos of dead Thai protesters. Thank you.

Abhitist did not go on shooting rampage. No one knows what orders he gave and what orders were passed on down the line-No one, especially us, foreigners on TV

So you mean Thaksin did go on shooting rampage. Everyone knows what orders he (Thaksin) gave and what orders were passed on down the line-everyone, especially us, foreigners on TV

Perhaps he's referring to Thaksin's Tak Bai incident or his War on Drugs with the 2800 extra judicial killings of which more than half had no link to the drugs trade and included women (including at least one who was pregnant) and children.

Just had a visit from a local red shirt... he wanted to know how to open a file on his memory stick...

Seems that a collection of photos from the rally are circulating, showing most of the stuff we have all seen on foreign websites, but also lots of flesh wounds... shot legs etc.

So it seems that indeed (some/many?) of the 800? wounded may have been shot in the leg...

better than shot in the head, but still...

I guess there are a lot of people in power now who may actually be fighting for not just their political lives... if Mr T does manage to get back in power... lots of old scores to settle..

[insert picture here of cliché streetfight involving Chinese kitchen staff with meat cleavers in a dark alley]

cant find one: this will do:

So many people bashing Abhisit, yet he is one of very few in this country who are actually very well educated and best fit to actually govern.

He is one of very few who actually studied and graduated rather then having mommy and daddy pay 25k per semester per year to be passed.

He is not actually that highly educated. He has a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, which on payment of the appropriate fee was upgraded to an M Phil, and an Honorary Doctorate in Law from Ramkhamhaeng University.

Two simple questions for you:

Who do you think paid "25k per semester per year" for him to attend Eton and Oxford if it wasn't "mommy and daddy"?

Why do you think there is any correlation between a theoretical education and fitness to govern? George W and Prince Charles are similary educated and live off the family money, but it would take a brave man to call either of them intelligent!

Not sure if I got this? Are you saying that "women (including at least one who was pregnant) and children" have "no link to the drugs trade" because they are female &/or under 18?

Your argument, at least on these grounds, seems a little flawed.
