Drunk Woman Trash Phone Booth

Drunk charged with trashing phone booth

TAK: -- An apparently drunken woman destroyed a public phone booth yesterday after she found it was out of order and could not call her husband to pick her up, police said.

Sub-Lieutenant Adul Ruanchai of Muang police station said Wilai Yotha, 35, wanted to call home at 2am after drinking with friends.

But the phone was not working so she became infuriated and smashed the phone and the glass walls of the booth with a stick.

Adul said 10 police were sent to investigate after villagers living in the area alerted them. Wilai was found hiding in bushes nearby, and was arrested.

The suspect was charged with damaging state property. Her relatives did not have money or assets to post bail so she will be detained at the provincial courthouse until her ruling, expected in about two weeks, he said.

I bet the phone booth learned a lesson from the beating it received and will think twice next time before choosing to be idly out of order.
