These "fees" are of the same type often paid to government officials to make things run more smoothly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And the same as many of the better private schools in the west "request" (or at least in my experience with a couple of schools in the US) as a donation to the upkeep of the institution. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not really. There already are payments in the normal tuition fees for that purpose here in Thailand (or at least there used to be). Nah, these are paid with the initial application (often with the blank for the amount on the application) before tuition is billed. Ruamrudee,Wattana (100k Baht each, the former when 100k was $4kUS; both here in the LOS)... Hyde Park, St. Stephen's Episcopal, both stateside, $5-6kUS and $11kUS if I recall correctly.
