I have the International Transport Permit (purple book) issued on 02 April 2009. Any idea on

- validity of the International Transport Permit?

- Which countries i can go with my thailand registerred car & this ITP?

1) Although some people have driven outside Thailand and never had one (just cash), the Internatonal Transport Permit (sometimes called a Triptych or Trip Ticket ) allows you to take a vehicle across borders. It's valid if you obtain one in the province where your car is registered at the local Land Transportation Department.

2) The ITP allows you to easily re-enter Thailand with your vehicle; other countries have restrictions and regulations to comply with when transporting a vehicle across its borders so just having the Thai ITP doen't automatically mean you can take your vehicle anywhere you like.

For example; once you drive into Laos, you hand your Thai ITP to immigration along with your passport and pay for either a 1 week, 2 week or longer stay, after which you must insure your vehicle for the proposed duration of your stay.
