Tigs
Well, the cards are well and truly on the table. In the live updates in the news section it is being reported that troops are clashing with a number of Red Shirts close to Don Muang airport. Should the troops let the protestors through it could be checkmate for the Reds. Rules of engagement need to be made strictly clear to the troops and close supervision is needed to ensure they obey orders. As the courts have stipulated that the Government must act in accordance with 'International Standards', maybe the Government now need a timely reminder that no other country would permit it's airports to be taken by protestors and thus paralysing the country. It is time to show some kuhoona's and draw the line. Clearly the reds may have in mind that closing off the business area was a wrong strategy as they are still there a month later. If the Airports are closed again then it is good night Thailand, good night Thai Airways etc etc. Any thoughts?
bkkjames
it was only about 100 protesters from what I gather and after a few battles - they left.
